Our team in Melbourne is currently looking for a Compliance & Administration Officer ANZ at Brenntag.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Compliance Officer: responsible for overseeing ANZ's corporate compliance, coordinating with ANZ management and Brenntag's regional compliance managers to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold ANZ laws and regulations, and monitoring the company's adherence to those policies and procedures.
Administration: responsible for providing administrative support for Brenntag ANZ, supporting the HR Team, ANZ Managing Directors, and undertaking other daily activities and projects as required.

  • Function as the initial contact in the local organization for all compliance-related requests
  • Ensure Brenntag ANZ has a well-defined program for complying with the country's laws and Brenntag's corporate guidelines
  • Review and maintain Brenntag's compliance management systems
  • Develop internal company policies for ANZ aligned with Brenntag's global and regional compliance requirements
  • Implement local compliance processes aligned with Brenntag's global and regional compliance processes
  • Report to management and regional compliance managers regarding the organization's compliance with local laws and regulations and the local compliance program
  • Address noncompliance situations effectively by creating pragmatic plans to resolve them
  • Conduct regular audits to identify potential weaknesses and instances of noncompliance
  • Engage with employees to ensure their understanding of and compliance with internal and external laws and regulations
  • Communicate Global and Regional compliance initiatives, training, and projects with employees
  • Support the Regional Compliance Manager during Compliance Risk Assessment activities
  • Assist local stakeholders during audits on compliance-related topics
  • Monitor the implementation of action plans and remediation measures after compliance-related audits or investigations by collaborating with local and regional stakeholders
  • Manage the ANZ Gift Register
  • Oversee and maintain the Legal DMS Contract Management system and process
  • Manage facilities such as building maintenance, kitchen/office cleaning, parking access, essential grocery orders, and office equipment
  • Source and purchase corporate merchandising items
  • Handle digital communication, including Britesign management and access/messaging
  • Assist in guest travel arrangements, including visa preparation, accommodation booking, plane tickets, and transport
  • Manage security bins, archiving, and toner recycling
  • Take charge of stationary and printing management
  • Assist in coordinating Company Events/functions and other ad hoc events within the organization
  • Undertake any other duties and activities as assigned from time to time
PROFILE
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or Compliance Officer, with a background in regulatory administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including financial regulations, data privacy laws, anti-corruption laws, etc.
  • Capability to identify and evaluate compliance risks both externally (regulatory changes) and internally (processes, policies, and practices)
  • Experience in policy development
  • Proficiency in conducting audits to identify potential weaknesses and non-compliance situations
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills
  • Awareness of ethical principles and commitment to upholding them in organizational actions
