About the opportunity:


This leadership role is responsible for the support of the delivery of the 'Inspired Care' philosophy for our housing residents and applicants by providing expertise in community housing management standards.


What you'll be doing in this role:

  • Responsible for leading a team of housing management and allocations staff
  • Management of a number of specialist housing programmes, such as, Premiers Youth Initiative (PYI), HASI Plus, National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS), Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF), nongovernment funded rentals, short term housing initiatives
  • Prepare and submit National Regulatory System Community Housing compliance returns to maintain Registered Community Housing status
  • Maximise rental income by ensuring incomebased rent reviews are carried out in line with relevant rental programme, ensure tenant takeup of Commonwealth Rent Assistance
  • Provide expertise and mentoring Senior Services & Property & Housing staff in relation to community housing requirements, rental policies, procedures and Residential Tenancy legislation
  • Create, publish and update policies and procedures for social and affordable housing

Who we're looking for:


This is a management role, typically requiring 5 or more years' experience, including 2 or more years' experience supervising a small team.

You will have experience meeting legislative requirements under the Residential Tenancies Act and the Housing Act.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (in Human Services, Social Work or similar) desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the Community Housing Sector and community housing rent policy
  • Understanding of social and affordable housing allocations
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework of the sector including the Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relations in stressful situations (e.g. neighbour disputes)
  • Excellent communications skills verbal and written
