The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Native Title and Heritage Lead to join our Power & Development team in Perth on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Planning & Environment Manager, you will build, manage and maintain trusting, respectful and productive relationships with traditional owners, have a good moral compass and acts with integrity, support the negotiation of native title agreements, arrange heritage surveys, prepare cultural heritage approvals and management plans and provide advice in relation to the native title and heritage requirements for new power projects in the Pilbara.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide extensive guidance on the tenure, cultural heritage and statutory approval requirements for new projects
- Identify, schedule and manage all aspects of the native title and heritage workstreams for key projects
- Overseeing specialist consultants, along with supporting power generation and business development roles by providing advice on feasibility, schedule and cost of potential projects
- Assess strategies and feasibility for land access options required for development projects
- Develop projects to achieve customer and corporate objectives
Your background
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as Archaeology, Planning, Environmental Science, Legal, Sustainability, Construction etc).
- Extensive experience in Indigenous relationships, Indigenous engagement and heritage management
- Extensive experience in a similar lead role within the renewables, infrastructure, construction or power projects sector
- The ability and willing to travel to remote project sites
- Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, along with strong attention to detail

We recently acquired Alinta Pilbara – an energy infrastructure business underpinned by high-quality gas power generation and renewable assets and a project pipeline of an estimated $3 billion dollars spread across the Pilbara and by a team with a track record of delivering safe and reliable operations, as well as growth. These Pilbara assets include solar and gas power generation, battery storage, and electricity and gas transmission infrastructure. This is an established business with long-term contracts and a significant development pipeline for future growth. This acquisition capitalises on our existing capabilities in energy infrastructure and positions us to be the leading independent energy solutions provider in the Pilbara.
