Slam Engineering is an established professional engineering firm which provides services to the heavy industrial sector and numerous mines sites in NSW & QLD. In 2021 Slam Engineering became an accredited Registered Training Organisation and has a scope to deliver High Voltage Switching and Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) training. The company also continues to delivery Engineering consultancy, Compliance audits and delivers Industry Specific training packages.

We are seeking applications of highly skilled individuals with the right attitude for the position of Electrical Trainer Assessor to be the lead trainer for the EEHA courses and support the team with the broader aspects of training and assessment.

Our team consists of multi-disciplined personnel in the Electrical and Mechanical engineering fields. We undertake high-end engineering including site work direct for clients complimented with engineering support across a range of projects and disciplines. Our team is based at our Head office in the Lower Hunter Valley with occasional travel to our clients premises.

As the Electrical Trainer Assessor, you will work closely with client representatives and other team members to develop and deliver training outcomes to clients' requirements.

We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • A mature work attitude;
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills;
  • Multiple years' experience in a mining and/or overhaul workshop;
  • Current driver's license; and
  • Able to pass drug and alcohol tests.

Minimum requirements are:

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent) or be willing to attain this qualification;
  • Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) units of competency;
  • 5+ years Electrical experience; and
  • Experience with development of training and assessment packages.

Any of the following specialised skills would be highly regarded:

  • Engineering qualifications;
  • Experience working in Hazardous areas;
  • Working with eLearning packages;
  • High Voltage Switching units of competency; and
  • Previous work history within a Registered Training Organisation.
