About the job title and the company:

The role of the New Business Development & Partnerships Manager is pivotal in driving new business opportunities within the Corporate Super sector for CFS and strengthening the existing relationships with Employer Clients.

Your team:

CFS Distribution is in charge of distributing CFS platform and investment products to the retail market, serving financial advisers, licensees, employers, and researchers.

The Corporate Super team, a part of the Distribution unit, nationally represented, focuses on generating sales through Employer Groups (who offer superannuation to their members) externally from Colonial First State. This team prides itself on fostering strong client relations and collaborating with medium to large Employers to cater to their members.

The team's main objective is to expand our fund by acquiring new employers. Apart from increasing the number of members through these employers, it aims to enhance the support provided to retain existing members.

  • Business development and pitching for new business - engaging in tender applications and establishing relationships with key external partners to ensure CFS Corporate Super stands out.
  • Building solid relationships with key partners and developing a pipeline of new opportunities alongside the Corporate Super team.
  • Collaborating with key Financial Advisors, Tender Managers, and other partners to pinpoint CFS opportunities.
  • Compiling pitch packs and tender proposals to secure new business (in collaboration with the CFS Corporate Super, Investments, and Product teams).
  • Updating opportunities in the CRM system, participating in relevant seminars/conferences to acquire new business, and representing CFS Corporate Super in the market as needed.
  • Supporting CFS growth and retention initiatives, making external parties aware of positive changes for clients and Employer Groups (e.g., ESG, fund choice).
  • Utilizing effective presentation skills to educate clients appropriately, adapting to their knowledge level by avoiding industry jargon and providing information in simple terms.
  • Collaborating proactively with peers/internal stakeholders to prioritize client needs across internal CFS business units.

Your capability and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Development Manager in Financial Services, with a solid background in Superannuation being highly valued.
  • Proven track record of enhancing results through engagement activities with Employers and Members.
  • Robust technical knowledge of superannuation and understanding of Platforms (Master Trusts & Wraps).
  • Ability to influence at a C-Suite level and engage across the business.
  • Thorough understanding of current and prospective superannuation legislation, industry trends, and products.
  • Deploying quality sales methodologies effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels of seniority.
  • Experience in expanding a network of contacts across diverse sectors with strong sales and influencing capabilities.
  • Capability to forge strong internal and client relationships with a high level of service standard.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Completion of RG146 (desirable).
