MacDonnell Regional Council Youth Services (MacYouth) offers innovative youth programs in 9 remote communities: Amoonguna, Areyonga, Docker River, Haasts Bluff, Hermannsburg, Finke, Imanpa, Kintore, Mount Liebig, Papunya, Santa Teresa, and Titjikala.
Youth services cater to individuals aged 12-25 years and provide diverse activities like bush trips, arts and crafts, music, dance, sports, bush medicine, young women's and men's evenings, computing, personal hygiene, and health management.
The MacYouth Program involves overseeing Youth Boards in the communities and managing the Outside School Hours Learning Program for children aged 5-12 years. The program aims to enhance personal capacity, self-esteem, resilience, and social connectedness among young individuals to help them make positive life choices.
The role
Seeking a dedicated Youth Engagement Officer to contribute to youth service programs in a community setting, collaborating with a local team focused on individuals aged 5-25 years. Responsibilities include building relationships with stakeholders, program administration, resource management, and case work.
Looking for candidates with drive, commitment, a strong work ethic, leadership abilities, and experience working with young people. Essential skills include effective communication, leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
