The facility includes two putting greens, a short game area, and practice range, offering various programs and lessons to Members, guests, and golf enthusiasts.

About the position

This role is a full-time, continuous position.

The main focus of the Director of Golf role is to manage and lead the Golf Operations department. The chosen candidate will collaborate closely with the senior management team, providing valuable strategic insights for the Club.

Moreover, teaching and coaching are fundamental aspects of this role. The Director of Golf will offer lessons to Members, play a key role in beginner programs, and provide expertise in club fitting.

Main responsibilities
  • Overseeing the retail operations of the golf shop to ensure profitability
  • Managing all aspects of golf operations including tee times, bookings, range, and coaching.
  • Planning, organizing, and overseeing all golf competitions and events according to the annual business plan
  • Handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, reporting, and Match committee duties.
  • Interacting with Members and visitors to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborating with the Management Team to create an annual business development strategy for the golf facility.
  • Enhancing the knowledge and service standards of the Golf Operations team.
  • Developing and implementing game improvement programs for various player categories.
About you

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned golf professional with extensive industry knowledge, preferably in a leadership position. You will be a dynamic leader with strong staff management skills, interpersonal abilities, and relationship-building aptitude. Additionally, you should possess advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, and be capable of analyzing and reporting on Golf Operations performance.

The Director of Golf should have a genuine interest in game development and working with golfers of all levels. Bringing fresh perspectives to the role, you will continuously seek ways to enhance services at Lonsdale Links and boost golf participation.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Golf Operations (mandatory)
  • PGA Certification (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Coaching/Small Business/Game Development through the PGA ACE Program (preferred)
  • Degree in Business/Commerce/Sports Management or related field (preferred)
