North Parramatta (Cumberland Hospital) Where you'll be working Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing The Clinical Lead, in collaboration with the Operations Manager PCYMHS, will provide expert operational leadership and supervision of the WSLHD Safeguards Early Intervention Mental Health Response Team ('Safeguards Team').

The position will also provide expert clinical support to the team alongside the leadership of the Safeguards psychiatrist.

The Safeguards Team is a new multidisciplinary team and dedicated PCYMHS resource designed to provide trauma-informed, recovery focused and evidence-based care to children and adolescents aged 0 -17 years, experiencing mental health distress.

This team is community based and provides short-term, rapid, mobile, and flexible care to resolve mental health distress, including comprehensive mental health assessment, care coordination and brief (single session) interventions.

The team currently operates 5 days/week however it is expected that the service will expand to include after-hours support on some weekdays and/or on the weekend.

The Safeguards team provides service delivery in the community (Schools, homes, hospital-based settings etc) for consumers and their families/carers across a range of modalities such as face to face, phone and telehealth.

The Clinical Lead is responsible for the effective operational management of the Safeguards team.

They are responsible for liaising and providing consultation to staff and managers of other mental and general health teams and relevant external agencies.

The Clinical Lead is responsible for ensuring the Safeguards team comply with professional and organisational obligations in relation to policies and procedures, risk management, and notifications in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

This includes actively supporting and demonstrating adherence to all aspects of patient, safety and quality and work health and safety.

The Clinical Lead will maintain a clinical load or may be required to provide an expert specialty consultancy role in their area of expertise.

Qualification:

Tertiary qualification in a clinical health field of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy with a minimum experience at Level 4 for Health Professionals.


R egistration:

R egistration in line with Award requirements: Full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Clinical Psychologist or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker.

(Registered Nurse requires at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the position

Selection Criteria:
Tertiary qualifications and relevant professional registration/membership with requisite experience and demonstrated ability to satisfy the award requirements for either: Clinical Nurse Consultant Level 2,

Clinical Psychologist:
Senior Psychologist; Occupational Therapist Level 4 or Social Worker Level 4.

Extensive experience as a clinician in providing assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health problems, including acute care.

Demonstrated capacity in leading a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved consumer care and outcomes.

Demonstrated skills in partnership development and negotiation with a wide range of service providers and well-developed understanding of the interface between services.

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes with other staff.
Current unrestricted NSW drivers' licence and the willingness to drive for work purposes.
