We are a 100 year old organisation that is experiencing an exciting period of growth and embarking on a number of new projects, which would see our current team of 300+ employees grow substantially throughout 2023.


About the role


The Head of Standards Development leads the Project Management, Publishing and SD Operations teams primarily responsible for the delivery of national and international standards development projects.


The scope of responsibilities covers leadership, workforce & resource management, service level attainment and instilling a continuous improvement and innovation culture across the team and as a senior leader in the business.


What you'll do

  • Lead, coach, develop and motivate employees to deliver on organisational and individual performance measures managed through Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure that the SA brand and Core Values are upheld at all times
  • Develop departmental business plans in line with the Standards Australia Strategic Plan and Growth & Transformation program
  • Embed innovation in the Standards Development lifecycle to transform content development, and aid value add content delivery
  • Contribute to broader business planning, budget and proposal development, and other services agreements as required
  • As a senior manager, contribute to business improvement and transformation
  • Maintain and foster effective, professional relationships and communication across business units
  • Approve and oversee the governance of the standards development process in accordance with Standards Australia Governance processes
  • Ensures the teams have a clear vision and direction so they understand how they contribute to the longterm success

About you

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant applied industry experience
  • Experience utilising project management methodologies
  • Experience solving complex problems
  • Proven experience in managing teams and issues
