Overview

Your Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Case Manager to manage a portfolio of claims under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act (SRC Act.). This is a permanent full-time position with remote working available.

Reporting to the Team Manager you will be responsible for providing a customer focused, case management service to your assigned SRC clients. You will have responsibility for the pro-active management of all claims within your portfolio from notification to closure and be part of a high performing team.

How you'll make an impact

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist the Delegate to determine liability accordingly (applicable to DCMA agreement) or determine liability on claims as per TPA
  • Consider Compliance, Medical Relationship, Employment Relationship and Exclusionary Provisions when reviewing liability
  • Communicate all decisions to employer and employee
  • Prepare new claims at time of registration and ensure all relevant data and information is captured within the appropriate systems in a time manner
  • Actively listen, show empathy and recognise the needs of the worker and employer
  • Identify and assist in achieving sustainable early RTW outcomes and positive injured worker survey results
  • Participate in all aspects of goal development and strategies to maintain and/or gain independence with injured workers, working collaboratively with treating health practitioners and allied health providers
  • Provide introduction and education to seriously injured workers, employers if applicable and treatment providers to explain serious injury entitlements, goals and focus on independence
  • Ensure data and documentation is accurately recorded in accordance with internal and Comcare/Pracsys practice guidelines and protocols

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to interact empathetically with people in vulnerable situations
  • Demonstrated claims management experience, with the ability to determine liability
  • An ability to interpret and apply legislation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the rights and responsibilities of people who are impacted by a workplace injury, work health benefits and services available to workers and employers
  • Knowledge of general business and administrative practices
  • Sound level of experience in all Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of generic Claims Management Workers Compensation systems (desirable)
  • Experience in managing a claims portfolio under the SRC Act (desirable)
