Position Summary:

Ensure the effective coordination and control of Tunnel Engineering Works for a designated Project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on CaSE / Clients standards. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible in assisting to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to Project Manager to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Help monitor and control sub-contractors performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with the specifications.
  • Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as practically possible .
  • Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action.
  • Adhere to safety plan for project and communicates it to project team members including suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant HSE policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Assists with resolution of safety issues as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Participates in the preparation of safe Work Method Statements in consultation with the work group carrying the proposed activity.
  • Ensure the engagement of subcontractors comply with the CaSE / clients safety management system and procedures.
  • Lead construction method statements approvals.
  • Lead by example by meeting safety KPIs whilst ensuring project team member(s) and subcontractor supervisor(s) are also meeting their safety KPIs.
  • Monitor implementation of construction methods including audits.
  • Maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external shareholders on all matters relating to the construction activities.
  • Participate in Client/contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and project management issues.
  • Interacts with both on site personnel and other parties to create a positive work environment.
  • Ensures regular two-way communication with the Project Engineer on all matters.
  • Conducts regular site meetings to foster understanding, participation and enthusiasm.

To be successful in this key role, you must have

  • A recognised degree in Civil Engineering, or similar degree.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in large multi-facet projects.
  • Leadership ability to provide mentorship to direct reports.
  • Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk.
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to health and safety.
