Aboutthe role

The positionrequires a dynamic employee who can work across the division anddevelop skills which can assist in multidiscipline teams, providingexpertise where the resources are required in relation developmentapplication functions.

This rolewill provide planning advice to internal and external stakeholders,assess low risk development applications in particular ConcurrenceAgency Response applications and facilitates development assessmentincluding the processing and assessment of low-risk developmentapplications, and the preparation of reports on applications underthe and.

The positionis within a team environment which consists of other Planners,Senior Planners, Planning Support Officers, and CoordinatorPlanning Assessment. The position also works in a broadermulti-discipline section including infrastructure, social,heritage, urban design, and open space planning where collaborationis essential in making informed decisions and providing planningadvice.

Aboutyou

The positionrequires good communication skills and negotiation with a varietyof stakeholders to balance land use outcomes for the City anddeliver an outcomes-focused and value-adding culture where leadersand staff take personal accountability for delivering onCouncil’s Corporate Plan and policies.

Thesuccessful applicant will be required to:

Follow reasonable directions to maintain business continuity of critical business activities in the event of an unplanned disruption, including but not limited to a disaster or event. Interpret and apply relevant legislation, council policies and procedures in assessing low risk development applications and Concurrence Agency Referral Responses under the supervision of the Coordinator Planning Assessment. Provide planning and development advice (internal / external), respond to planning enquiries, while leading and role modelling customer focused behaviour by delivering service excellence.
