Job Description

Role Overview

This role is in the Group Audience Insights team within Nine’s Group Marketing organisation with a purpose of driving audience growth across Nine’s key verticals of TV, Publishing and Audio.

Group Audience Insights exists to fuel insight-led audience growth, underpinning decision making across Marketing, Content and Product stakeholders.

Nine’s Group Audience Insights is a team of 9 multi-disciplinary insights professionals including qualitative and quantitative researchers, research operations and data visualisation; providing consultative services in addition to the management of audience insights infrastructure and tooling for the business; such as audience panels, data collection and analysis software and knowledge platforms.

Role responsibilities

Lead the design, conduct and delivery of quantitative research studies to underpin insight-led decision making across Nine’s marketing, digital product, editorial and programming teams to deliver audience growth for our TV, Publishing and Audio businesses.

● End to end quantitative research, delivering to a diverse range of stakeholders to support decision making, with studies predominantly conducted in-house using Nine’s audience panels, site/app intercept surveys, customer lists and external panel samples, as required.

● This is a senior role requiring people leadership, motivation, mentoring and coaching across our range of researchers, analysts and ops executives. Two direct reports - Senior Research Executive and Data Visualisation Executive.

● Manage and continue to enhance Nine’s program of Group Brand Tracking. Continue to enhance Nine’s program of CX / Lifecycle insights.

● Take a day-to-day hands-on approach across all aspects of quantitative research conduct, analysis of existing data sources, data integration and data visualisation; working closely with our in-house Research Ops team for survey scripting and DP and leading our data integration and dashboarding function.

● Play a key role, in delivering value from our insights infrastructure and tooling and strategising future development and enhancement for the audience insights function.

● As a senior member of the Group Audience Insights team, the Senior Manager plays a key role in team strategy, future vision and the mentoring of junior team members

Qualifications

Necessary qualifications, experience & skills

● Demonstrated ability to design and deliver quantitative research studies with actionability

● Deep understanding across a breadth of best practice consumer and market insight techniques , with the ability to clearly distill data into actionable insights for the business 

● Expertise in using analysis software such as SPSS or Q and ability to conduct statistical analysis such as Key Driver Analysis, Factor Analysis and Cluster Analysis .

● Significant practical experience in strategic insights/audience research/consumer research

● Relevant degree in marketing, communications, psychology or similar

Advantageous

● Exposure to / experience integrating primary research datasets with other 1st or 3rd party data to generate and deliver valuable insight

● Exposure to Qualtrics  Data visualisation using dashboarding platforms such as Tableau, Data Studio, Qualtrics or Displayr
