About the role

The City of Ipswich’s Office of Economic Development includes a major projects function and is also responsible for leading the implementation of ‘Leveraging 2032: Our Roadmap to the Olympic and Paralympic Games’ (Legacy Roadmap).

This role coordinates project planning, management, and stakeholder engagement in relation to council’s Legacy Roadmap as well as our identified major projects. These are major projects which will generate a substantial economic, social or environmental benefit to the community of Ipswich through the delivery of major infrastructure, investment, development or employment outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Oversee the Legacy Roadmap's execution, ensuring collaborative efforts between the Legacy Working Group and essential stakeholders. Manage comprehensive project lifecycles, from planning and resource allocation to budgeting and reporting, aligning with strategic goals. Cultivate strategic alliances with governmental bodies, industry leaders, and community representatives to align project outcomes with collective economic and social objectives. Engage key stakeholders, both internal and external, to promote cooperation, and produce detailed reports and communications as necessary.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field. Substantial knowledge and demonstrated experience in providing project management support of regionally significant projects in a public sector setting, including developing multiple project plans and business case development. Demonstrated high level ability to identify and cultivate productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making ability, and proven ability to influence. Well developed, effective communications skills, particularly written communications skills. High level time management skills to plan, prioritise and organise deliverables linked to required timeframes.

About the benefits

This is a fixed-term, fulltime , level 7 position through to 11 July 2025. Salary commencing at $110,575 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
