About the Opportunity

As the Safety and Injury Service Coordinator, you will play a key role in fostering a strong focus on care and HSE excellence within Serco Australian Defence Force Health Services Contract (AHSC). 

You will work as part of the Serco Defence Business Unit Team who support the AHSC Management and front-line teams to achieve operational success through the implementation of health, safety and injury management programs that assist Serco employees to think safe, work safe and get home safe. Through partnering with AHSC operational teams you will provide practical advice and guidance to support decision making that reduces risk to safety and injury management (including Recover at Work outcomes).

What you’ll be doing  

  • Supporting 2,000 nationally dispersed colleagues to be the best they can be at work, and at home, and when the worst happens enable them to return to their best self as quickly as possible
  • Partnering with Operations to provide advice, training, consultation, monitoring and governance in all things safety, wellbeing, and injury management
  • Supporting stakeholders and ensure all relevant Safety and Injury Management legislation, policies and procedures are implemented and effective
  • Supporting the AHSC Leadership team to deliver the best outcomes across their risk profile by providing advice, on safe working procedures & practices and Injury Management / Return to Work requirements
  • Developing and conducting site-based assurance and education activities inclusive of audits, inspections, toolbox talks, and frontline capability development

About you  

This position is ideally suited for a HSE and Injury Management practitioner with experience in the Health Care industry seeking advancement in their career with plenty of opportunity to shine in a national role. You will take a hands-on proactive approach to fostering enhanced understanding and capability of safety and injury management best practice in operational teams. 
Your ideal skills & experience  

  • An Australian Citizen and can obtain a Defence Security Clearance
  • Experience in delivering outcomes with a dispersed professional workforce
  • Experience in both injury and safety management
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Able to travel interstate as required

This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
