About the Role

The Workplace Injury Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Manager to join our People and Culture team. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and guidance to WIC leaders and employees on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and employee wellbeing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively coach, guide and provide supportive advice to drive the application of quality health, safety & wellbeing initiatives and programs throughout WIC.
  • Conduct workplace assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs.
  • Provide expertise in psychosocial risk management, including continued improvements in how psychosocial risks are investigated and managed.
  • Support the delivery of WIC's statutory Health Safety & Wellbeing obligations.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a Health & Safety, Psychology or related discipline.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in mental health, vicarious trauma, and suicide prevention.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and resilience.
  • Experience in psychosocial risk management and the development of strategic and operational workplace mental health and wellbeing systems and programs.
