Your new role:

This role will lead the risk function to ensure risk is systematically identified, assessed and effectively managed within the individual business units of RMH both clinical and non-clinical.  The Director of Risk will provide expert advice and coordination of risk management policies and procedures and foster a culture whereby all levels of RMH and staff are encouraged to adopt a positive and proactive approach to risk management.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the corporate risk management function, including facilitating internal risk assessment sessions and partnering with stakeholders to develop risk treatment plans.
  • Integrate effective risk management practices across all levels of strategic and operational planning, processes and performance reporting.
  • Ensure RMH fulfils the regulatory compliance and reporting requirements of its clinical risks, non-clinical enterprise risks and shared risks.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure risk management is embedded in the strategic planning and decision-making processes.

About you:

  • You are tertiary qualified in a relevant field (e.g. Business or health degree) with experience in at least one of audit, strategy, planning, project or change management.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and an ability to apply these skills appropriately to meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders.
  • You can demonstrate understanding of governance, risk management and quality improvement concepts, with a focus on systems improvement and organisational change.
  • You have strong depth of understanding of risk functions within a Health setting.
  • You are able to develop and conduct business planning / risk workshops and feedback sessions.
  • You are experienced in engaging and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including as part of a team.
  • You are capable of undertaking research to support horizon scanning and benchmarking, analysis and development of strategic options.
  • You know how to work and negotiate with teams outside of the immediate portfolio
  • You are self-motivated and driven with a strong work ethic to deliver high quality deliverables.
  • You are able to adapt to changing priorities.
