Facilities Project Officer

Join a dynamic and well-established team for a fix 24-month term to assist with the responsibilities related to maintaining over 400 community buildings and structures located on Council’s land. No two days will be the same as you work on projects involving libraries, state-of-the-art aquatic centers, kindergartens, and even a velodrome.
As a Facilities Project Officer, you will deliver a comprehensive range of services, focusing on exceptional customer service and compliance.
- Lead and deliver assigned Facilities related projects, including but not limited to Hazardous material audits and removal programs.
- Contribute to the ongoing and continuous improvement to systems and processes.
- Manage relationships with all key internal stakeholders, particularly with community focused service providers.
- Ensure all OHS and contractor inductions are current.
- Manage assigned budget lines and complete monthly reporting requirements.
- Schedule works programs that support Council's declaration of a climate emergency.

About the Role
As a member of the Facilities Management team, you’ll leverage your building construction and maintenance expertise to help solve daily issues and ensure the efficient operation of Council-owned properties. You will actively contribute to improving systems and processes, ensuring compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) across various trades. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and customer-focused problem-solving skills, be a team player, and effectively manage their time and priorities. They must be capable of autonomously handling multiple project and contribute positively to a team environment.
Skills & Experience
- A relevant qualification in building maintenance or construction, or at least 5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Detailed and demonstrated working knowledge of computer maintenance management systems (preferably CAMS) and/or graphical information systems will be highly regarded.
- Current Victoria Driving Licence.
- Clear understanding of Essential Safety Measures and Hazardous Materials as they relate to the various Council owned and operated buildings.
