Your new role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Domestic Services Assistant to join our residential team at our Tom Fitzgerald Residential Aged Care Home on a Part-Time basis.  This dynamic position rotates through three services: cleaning, laundry and food services to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.

Your fortnightly roster will be as below:

Week 1 – Monday, Thursday, Friday (0930 – 1530) , Saturday & Sunday (0900 – 1300)

Week 2 – Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (0930 – 1530)

Successful candidates will have the capacity to undertake all the above shifts

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning resident rooms, office space and staff rooms
  • Cleaning and maintain storage areas.
  • Maintaining stock levels and cleaners room.
  • Cleaning duplex bathrooms and laundries on a scheduled cycle.
  • Cleaning duties as per schedule.
  • Assisting the Food Services & Laundry teams when necessary
  • Abiding by Wintringham’s infection control procedures

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role (mandatory)
  • Have received, are planning to or willing to receive an Influenza Vaccination
  • Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Physically able to perform required tasks
