**About us**
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
The Magistrates Court of Victoria (MCV) is expanding the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) to all headquarter courts, including Shepparton Magistrates Court. ARC is a part of suite of therapeutic innovations at MCV. ARC is a solution-focused court underpinned by therapeutic jurisprudence and recoverorientated mental health practice for people facing criminal matters who have a mental illness/or cognitive impairment. Hearings are less formal, non-adversarial and take a collborative approach to address both well-being and the underlying causes of offending behaviours
**About the role**
Make a crucial contribution to a multidisciplinary team that includes a magistrate, lawyer, police and support persons. ARC provide nonadversarial, less formal hearings to review and support participant progress. You will be providing complex case managment support using a holisitic and collaborative approach. Eligible participants have a range of needs including mental illness and/or cognitive impairment, alcohol and substance issues, homelessness, family violence and/or limited social supports to recover or stablish their condition.
This role provides a short term (up to 4 months) case management support to people on bail with a range of complex needs who are particpating in the CISP. The role also provides longer term (up to 12 months) case managment support to people with complex mental illness and/or cognitive impairment needs who are participating in the ARC. You will attend Court on a monthly basis to provide expert advice to the Magistrate and other key stakeholders.
**About You**
This role demands extensive case management expertise to provide client centred, strenghts based and solution focused support. Tertiary qualificiations (Diploma level highly desirable) adn/or relevant case managmeent experience (such as forensic, family violence, AOD, homelessness adn/or mental health).
