The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Officer to join our team in Notting Hill on a full-time basis. Reporting into the Pre-Site & Compliance Team Leader, the successful candidate will manage all activities and requirements in relation to compliance, building and regulatory approvals.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Active coordination of activities in relation to the receipt of all regulatory requirements for building projects – meeting timeframes, managing workflow, quality of delivery and the escalation and follow up of tasks and individuals.
  • Ensure assessment and approval of housing design, colours palettes and garden landscape designs are undertaken in accordance with Design Guideline requirements and within the required timeframes.
  • Review, interpret and apply requirements of regulatory documentation as part of the compliance process, including but not limited to Part 5 of the Building Regulations (ResCode), Developer Guidelines and Memorandum of Common Provisions (MCP).
  • Identify dispensation requirements and provide alternate solutions that achieve compliance.
  • Ensure that all relevant information is updated and uploaded in HPM management system.
  • Provide relevant internal stakeholders with regular updates in relation to all compliance and regulatory items including developer approvals, build over easement, dispensations and building permits.
  • Liaise with Drafting if/when plans do not meet the requirements of the guidelines or building regulations and provide Pre-Site team with solutions to present to clients.
  • Act as point of contact and conduit between Dennis Family Homes and relevant authorities, including Building Surveyors and Developers.
  • Management and reconciliation of supplier invoices.
  • Provide office administration support, including general office and administrative duties as directed by management.

About you

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Residential Building experience – Minimum of 2 years industry experience in a similar role.
  • Building approvals – Demonstrated understanding of the process, with an ability to understand building plan.
  • Building Regulations - Demonstrated understanding of Part 5 of ResCode.
  • Volume Building – A working understanding of the volume building process.
  • Solutions and customer focused – An ability to think laterally and build rapport easily.
  • Skills – Well-developed organisational and communication skills.
  • Technology – Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite.
