Job Title: Testing Officer

SGS is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Testing Officer to join our team in Notting Hill, Melbourne. As a Testing Officer, you will play a critical role in the examination, test, and calibration of road safety enforcement technology equipment and other traffic systems to determine their performance and condition.

This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level professional to develop their skills and knowledge in a field-based role that involves daily travel within the metropolitan area. After full training, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the tools necessary for testing, ensuring that all testing and calibration is carried out in a safe, professional, and ethical manner, and assisting the Project Manager Traffic Systems in any such manner with regard to the Traffic Systems division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain the tools necessary for the examination and testing of road safety enforcement technology equipment and other traffic systems.
  • Ensure that all testing and calibration is carried out in a safe, professional, and ethical manner.
  • Assist the Project Manager Traffic Systems in any such manner with regard to the Traffic Systems division.
  • Ensure Traffic Management is implemented to meet all HSE guidelines.
  • Maintain total customer focus.
  • Assist in the test of road safety enforcement technology and other traffic systems equipment in accordance with documented procedures to determine compliance with standards or client's requirements.
  • Record details of tests, results, assessments, and observations in order to have a permanent record for report compliance and reference.
  • Prepare a written report of results, assessments, and observations obtained from testing.
Requirements:
  • Certificate in Electronics or progressing towards one OR an equivalent qualification and experience.
  • An understanding of Traffic Management and road side HSE.
  • Understanding of measurement and testing techniques relating to road safety enforcement technology and test equipment used.
  • An understanding of the principle used by road safety enforcement technology equipment.
  • Possess technical written skills to record test results.
  • Current and valid Australian driver's license.
