The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east.

Symal is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Laing O’Rourke, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.

The role:
As our Alliance continues to grow, we are looking a Mobilisation Coordinator to join the Health & Safety team, in a permanent role.

Reporting to the Training & Compliance Advisor, you will support the Project in the delivery of the compliance with Training Matrix and industry requirements. This role includes audit and compliance and onboarding and reporting of workforce and personal data. 

There is also an opportunity to undertake a Certificate in WHS or Business Administration to support your career path in Health & Safety should you desire.

Your every day:
•    Support the Implementation of company training policies and practices to ensure compliance with legislation, industry trends and continued support to the project
•    Facilitate the effective roll out of all business processes and procedures 
•    System administration / compliance and clean-up of data source 
•    Ensuring compliance with Eastern Freeway BTA Training Matrix throughout life cycle of the project, including updates to the Matrix as required and quarterly compliance audits
•    Management of Damstra and Damstra Learning, including updates and changes 
•    Administer compliance to the on-boarding systems for the Alliance team. 
•    Information handling - Maintain privacy obligations and confidentiality, generate reports, respond to client/parent company requirements and other sensitive personal information
•    Coordination of Training with internal and external providers based on project and program requirements and needs 
•    Coordination of all internal Eastern Freeway BTA Training Programs including but not limited to; 
o    Rethinking Safety Through Inclusion + Wellbeing
o    Teambinder 
o    Mental Health Programs 
o    HSEMS Delivery Excellence
•    Coordinate subcontractor mobilisation of Damstra systems
•    Talking primarily by phone with subcontractors in relation to mobilisation requirements
•    Maintain accurate records for subcontractor employees
•    Provide general administrative assistance

Who are you?
•    More than 2 year’s experience in a similar role or administration role, preferably in the construction sector
•    Qualification in Human Resources, Business and Administration preferred but not required  
•    Damstra and Success Factors experience preferred but not required
•    Adaptability and strong problem solving and decision making skills
•    Ability to work independently and in a team environment 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills
•    Confident communicating in person and by phone
