City Salvos is a community-focused church, partnering with the wider community to help transform one life at a time with the love of Jesus. This is achieved through such programs as: Sunday Worship Services, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Thrift Shop engagement, and small groups.

Primary purpose of the role

We are seeking a values driven Finance and Administration Officer who will be responsible for day-to-day management of the finances at City Salvos Corps, Adelaide Congress Hall. As the successful candidate you will be passionate about playing your role in impacting our local community. Through this role you will provide support to the team in areas of business activities, including WHS and property management.

This role is a permanent part-time (15hrs per week) and is paid in accordance to the Clerks level 3 award.

You will successfully

  • Ensure invoices are processed and approved in accordance with TSA delegations

  • Accurately code and journal all invoices and financial transactions

  • Ensures invoices are processed in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment

  • Process corporate card transactions

  • Assist with budget preparations and financial reports

  • Support staff with finance and payroll queries, as appropriate

  • Organise contractors when requested by managers/officers to ensure maintenance matters are addressed

  • Ensure WHS matters are actioned & chair monthly WHS meetings.

  • Action general admin tasks

  • Attend staff meetings with officers and colleague employees

What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills in similar role, including bookkeeping, financial administration, office administration, banking or business administration

  • High competence with Excel and/or bookkeeping systems

  • High level of attention to figure work, calculations, maintaining records and digital filing

  • Willingness to obtain a National Police Check
