: This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse policy team at the centre of ACT GovernmentPolicy and Cabinet is seeking a strategic policy expert with a passion for collaboration and community outcomes for the role of Senior Director in the Regional, Infrastructure, Planning and Transport Branch.
Policy and Cabinet is a dynamic division that provides advice, support, and direction across the ACT Public Service on complex policy matters. The Regional, Infrastructure, Planning and Transport Branch provides whole of Government policy advice and support in relation to policy matters within the portfolio areas of the following ACT directorates:
Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate. Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate; and Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic DevelopmentThe Branch also has lead responsibility for coordination, delivery, and strategic advice in relation to regional and cross-border issues; Auditor-General matters; and ACT Government services in Jervis Bay Territory.
This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a team to deliver a complex and diverse range of policies aligned to the strategic aspirations and future direction of the government. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and management experience to draw on the right skills and people to deliver the objectives of the Branch. You will also have strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills and a commitment to achieving positive community outcomes. Experience in leading large and often complex program delivery will be critical to the role.
You will be required to build strong relationships across the public service and with key external stakeholders to provide whole of government governance support and strategic policy advice to the Executive and Ministers in relation to Cabinet matters and Government priorities.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 30 September 2024 to 27 June 2025, with the possibility of extension.
