About Service Improvement and Innovation Team

The Service Improvement and Innovation Team, reporting to the office of the Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, enables an enterprise approach to innovation and improvement and program/project management functions. The focus of the Service Improvement and Innovation team is on projects with an organisation wide impact; service improvement and innovation support; development of a community of practice to support service improvement and innovation; coaching and capability building in project and improvement methodologies; and to support the development of staff engagement in service improvement and innovation.

About the role

Austin Health is launching a Patient Portal to improve the quality and efficiency of communication with patients to support the provision of timely quality care. The Patient Portal Adoption Support Coordinators will work closely with the Change and Adoption Lead to support the delivery of a systematic approach to Patient Portal adoption, integration and evaluation to optimise staff and consumer uptake and utility.

The Patient Portal Adoption Support Coordinators will support the Change and Adoption Lead to successfully onboard and support consumers and staff to use Austin Health’s Patient Portal effectively. 

The Patient Portal Adoption Support Coordinators will:

  • Assist the Change and Adoption Lead with planning and delivering all change and adoption initiatives for the Patient Portal implementation 
  • Assist with assessing stakeholder needs and change readiness, anticipating and managing risks, interdependencies and challenges
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with consumers and staff to support change and adoption planning and implementation that it is fit for purpose and delivers the desired results
  • Support User Acceptance testing (UAT), useability testing and evaluation of the Patient Portal as required 
  • Assist with the design, development and delivery of Patient Portal education and support that addresses the different learning needs of diverse consumer and staff groups 
  • Troubleshoot problems and address questions from end users regarding the solution

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:

  • Tertiary level qualification in a clinical, allied health, IT or business discipline
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects in a health care or related sector
  • Highly developed organization skills including the ability to forward plan, prioritise work, achieve set targets and meet strict deadlines 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and motivating teams and individuals to successfully adopt change
  • Proven track record engaging consumers and community to improve services
