We are excited to invite you to apply for the Senior Account Manager position within our dynamic PR team, where you'll lead high-profile public relations campaigns for government clients, helping to influence public opinion and drive change across key sectors.

Why This Role?

This is not just another PR position; it’s a unique opportunity to work with government clients to deliver meaningful campaigns that impact public policy, drive social change, and engage communities. You'll be at the forefront of crafting narratives that build trust, communicate important policy messages, and drive public engagement on key government initiatives.

Who You Are:

You’re a seasoned PR professional with a proven track record in earned media. Whether your background is PR agency, public affairs, media relations, or strategic communications, you understand how to craft compelling stories that resonate with both media and the public. You have experience working with government or public sector clients and thrive in the complex landscape of public policy and community engagement.

You’re not just a manager; you’re a leader who guides your team to deliver exceptional results while building and maintaining strong client relationships.

About Us:

Dentsu Creative Public Relations brings together the strengths of legacy agencies like Haystac (consumer and brand), Cox Inall (behaviour change, corporate, and agribusiness), and Cox Inall Ridgeway (First Nations) to create a fully integrated PR agency. With a commitment to delivering impactful communications strategies for government clients, we specialisze in behaviour change, public affairs, and media relations that connect with diverse audiences and influence change.

The Role:

As Account Manager, you’ll take charge of managing day-to-day client work, focusing on high-impact government communications. You will be responsible for developing strategic communications programs, pitching behaviour change campaign materials, and building relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government officials, and advocacy groups.

In this role, you’ll help create and execute PR strategies for government campaigns, including public service announcements and behaviour change communications. You'll craft narratives that communicate government initiatives in a clear and compelling way, while ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the team to manage PR campaigns for government clients, providing strategic counsel on public policy messaging, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Develop communication strategies that align with government priorities, building public understanding and support for key initiatives.

  • Creation of press releases, media pitches, speeches, reports, and other content tailored to government narratives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, government officials, and public sector stakeholders.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to support business development and expand our portfolio of government clients.

  • Manage client budgets and resources in coordination with the Senior Account Director and Account Director, ensuring efficient project delivery.

  • Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.

  • Keep clients informed on the effectiveness of campaigns, providing regular reports and adjusting strategies as needed.

A Bit About You:

  • Experience in government PR, public affairs, or working with public sector clients, ideally in an agency environment highly desirable but not essential.

  • Strong expertise in earned media and strategic communications, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop genuine connections with media, government representatives, and key stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and the dynamics of public policy communications.

  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to develop strategic messaging, media releases, speeches, and reports.

  • A proactive and strategic thinker, able to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and navigate the intricacies of government communications.

  • Experience managing client relationships and driving successful PR campaigns.

What’s in It for You:

  • Flexibility: Work when and where you’re most productive with our "Be the Best You" policy, plus a $250 contribution to your home office setup.

  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy 5 weeks of annual leave after 2 years of service, along with 3 company-wide wellness days per year to recharge.

  • Career Development: Access to global career development and learning opportunities through Dentsu University.

  • Corporate Social Responsibility: Participate in volunteer initiatives and give back to the community through our annual “One Day for Change” event.

  • Wellness Benefits: Comprehensive wellness programs, including dedicated leave for mental health and well-being.
