Boddington Bauxite Mine

Our Boddington Bauxite Mine is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a rotating roster working day and night shifts. This is a DIDO position as there is no accommodation on site.As the Operator Maintainer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining fixed plant at the Boddington Bauxite Mine in accordance with scheduled work orders. The position reports to production supervisor and involves shift work. Indicative roster is 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts:  5 days R&R/ 2 day shifts, 3 night shifts:  4 days R&R/ 3 day shifts, 2 night shifts:  5 days R&R

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  

  • Maintain a sharp safety focus especially related to musculoskeletal injuries and how engineering solutions may be deployed in operations team as risk mitigation
  • Ensure compliance to the SAP process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system
  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives in fixed plant encompassing operations and maintenance activities
  • Conduct quality plant inspections and raise subsequent notifications in SAP as required
  • Assist maintenance teams during shutdowns in mechanical maintenance work

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Management of confined space, hot works and the isolation of plant and equipment
  • Demonstrate commitment to safe work practices and procedures
  • Demonstrates good leadership within the team
  • Understands and drives productivity without compromising safety
  • Challenges inappropriate behaviour or standards with respect
  • Assists with training and supervision as required

Qualifications for this position are:  

  • Exposure to fixed plant maintenance with a minimum experience of 1 year
  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Hold a current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
