How will I help?

The principal purpose of this role is to lead, motivate and coach a team to provide superior service to our customers. The key objective is to create a high performance and customer-centric culture while supporting the business to deliver transformation and people engagement strategies. 

  • Champion the Westpac Vision and Values, focusing on driving the delivery of our Customer Promise. 
  • Role model exceptional customer service and attention to detail when working with our internal and external customers. 
  • Set direction for team in line with the overall customer service mission and business unit objectives, especially when handing customer queries and complaints. 
  • Champion a positive, escalation-safe risk culture and actively anticipate, map, and manage risks, incidents, and issues in the business. 
  • Drive performance of team to meet objectives including service levels, productivity, quality and giving Customers a unique experience. 
  • Ensure a development plan is in place for your team, product training, process and procedure training, compliance education, role accreditation etc.
  • Foster high performance culture by motivating and rewarding staff using a wide range of tools and techniques.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvements opportunities to streamline and enhance current business processes.
  • Work to build deep relationships with our Customers, Business Partners, and the Community.

What do I need?

  • Banking and Finance knowledge and experience preferable.
  • Three years’ demonstrated experience in a people leadership position. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing operational disciplines, workflow planning and resource allocation. 
  • Experience building engagement and designing training and development programs across a workforce or team.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of risk awareness, including knowledge and application of compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Problem solving and data analytical skills.
  • Highly computer literate and able to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, written)
  • Highly competent using MS office such as Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Ability to build & maintain key relationships with business partners.
