Details

: Roads ACT is a dynamic Branch which is responsible for the management of the territorial and municipal roads, national highways, the community paths, stormwater network, bridges, carpark facilities, traffic signals, streetlights, and associated infrastructure.

Roads ACT manage these assets on behalf of the ACT Government for the enjoyment of the Canberra community.

Roads ACT is seeking a suitable candidate with proven office management experience, team leadership experience and high-level administration and organisational skills for the Business Administrator role within the Business Support team.

This position is a key role within the Roads ACT Business Support Team with a purpose of providing back of house functions to an operationally focused team.

The position and its team will enable Roads ACT teams in their day-to-day work and provide linkages both internally and within the TCCS.

Under limited direction, the position manages business functions for Roads ACT in accordance with the Directorate’s policies, guidelines, practices, and procedures to achieve corporate objectives.

This role requires a person who can inspire, energise, and positively influence team and individual outcomes and is responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating a team.

Effective employee engagement skills are a key enabler in the performance of this role as is a values-based leadership style.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent) desirable. To be eligible for permanent employment within the ACT Public Service you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident. Individuals on visas with Australian working rights are eligible to apply for temporary non-ongoing roles. Driver’s licence C Class is essential. This position does not require a pre-employment medical. This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Notes: Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
