THE ROLE:

We are looking for an enthusiastic administration team member to join our compassionate and dedicated team to provide effective and efficient administrative support and customer service in a busy health care setting. Our Administration Officer plays a key role in liaising with staff, clients and their families and ensuring the delivery of exemplary customer service. 

DUTIES:

  • Providing administrative support to the Staff Specialists and Department of Medical Oncology
  • Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner and delivering messages as appropriate
  • Provide high quality secretarial support to the Medical Oncology unit
  • Administration assistance with the Triaging of patients
  • Processing of Medicare claims for Medical Oncology patients
  • Maintaining referrals for all patients attending the Medical Oncology unit.
  • Assist office manager with office duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

  • Experience in Medical Terminology and Dictaphone typing at 50 words per minute.
  • Demonstrated computer and general literacy with accurate keyboard and data entry skills, including proficient Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated competence in administrative and general office procedures
  • Proven ability to work with limited supervision, meet competing deadlines and work proficiently in periods of high demand.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills including customer-focused telephone technique.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team, including a willingness to be flexible to meet the needs of the work environment.
  • Proven ability to use initiative while exercising discretion and confidentiality.
