Payroll Officer

**Introduction**:
We currently have a permanent opportunity for a committed Christian and experienced payroll officer to join our busy payroll team. The role will be located in our new Central Office at Waratah.
**Classification**: Admin Level 4, Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021
**Description**:
**What you’ll be doing**:
End-to-end payroll, including maintenance of employee data within payroll systems.
Keep up-to-date with information and changes regarding appropriate employee awards.
Attend seminars and training as necessary to ensure compliance with legislative and instrumental changes.
Input and setup of profiles for new employees.
Ensure payment of all pay related on costs such as STP2, superannuation and worker’s compensation payments are completed before due date.
Provide advice and assistance to site administrators and answer queries from the central inbox.
Produce reports and undertake audit checks and validations.
Calculation of terminations and adjustments as required.
Any other reasonable direction that is within the limits of your skills, competence, training and/or experience as given by your supervisor.
**Skills and Experiences**:
Essential
A committed Christian who will promote the vision and ethos of the organisation and its schools.
Maintain an active involvement in a local Christian evangelical fellowship.
Attend and participate in staff devotions and prayer meetings.
Demonstrated experience in computerised payroll systems - experience in iChris or Chris21 payroll system would be highly regarded.
Demonstrated ability in interpreting industrial awards, agreements and other relevant payroll legislation critical. Previous experience working in a finance team for a school will be highly regarded.
Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities.
Current and valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Exemplary skills in providing a quality service to our customers and stakeholders.
Desirable
Knowledge and experience with Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021, and Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Relevant qualifications in payroll or finance.
