Our client is a a world leader in delivering reproductive health care services and specialised women's imaging and diagnostic solutions. They brings over 50 years of experience and has a wealth of fertility experience across all aspects of reproductive care. They are looking for their new laboratory supervisor Embryology.

About the role 

 

This position is responsible for building aligned and effective teams that are highly skilled and functional. The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for coordinating resources to ensure the delivery of scientific outcomes and
patient experience. Working with the Scientific Director, this role will contribute to the achievement of the Scientific Leadership objective; to advance good science and innovative technology with a strong focus on the needs of the Patient and the Clinician to improve fertility outcomes.

• To participate in the provision of high-quality clinical Embryology services and laboratory routine requirements in line with the Monash Way SOPs.
• To maintain and create accurate, timely and legible patient records either by written or electronic documentation.
• Rostering and timesheet approvals in Tempus.
• Running the day-to-day activities in the embryology lab to ensure all laboratory tasks are performed within the optimal timeframe and to a high standard to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
• Communicate performance expectations to employees, monitor employee performance and conduct performance review development plan (PRDP) as per the schedule.
• Provide patients with exceptional care and support
• Deliver unambiguous information to patients
• Perform quality assurance procedures relating to all areas of the laboratory as directed.
• Ensure the provision of employee education and training to meet competency standards and continuous professional development.
• Manage the laboratory performance to agreed budget objectives.
• Effectively contribute to Gold Coast meeting RTAC, NATA, NHMRC and other mandatory requirements as required, by ensuring the embryology laboratory maintains compliance.
• Participate in internal and external QA programs, audits and training.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated people leader with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:

  • An undergraduate degree in a science related field with a
    postgraduate qualification (as per the RTAC CoP)
  • Fully trained in all aspects of embryology
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Willingness to be adaptable and flexible
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to educate and develop
    scientists
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a positive way
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory role
