Laboratory Supervisor

The Laboratory Supervisor is a key position in our Embryology team, responsible for coordinating resources to ensure the delivery of scientific outcomes and patient experience. This role is based at our laboratory on the Gold Coast in Queensland, where we have a team of 12 Embryologists and trainees.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the provision of high-quality clinical Embryology services and laboratory routine requirements in line with company SOPs.
- Maintain and create accurate, timely, and legible patient records.
- Rostering and timesheet approvals.
- Run the day-to-day activities in the embryology lab to ensure all laboratory tasks are performed within the optimal timeframe and to a high standard.
- Communicate performance expectations to employees, monitor employee performance, and conduct performance review development plans as per the schedule.
- Deliver information to patients.
- Ensure the provision of employee education and training to meet competency standards and continuous professional development.
- Manage the laboratory performance to agreed budget objectives.
- Effectively contribute to Gold Coast meeting RTAC, NATA, NHMRC, and other mandatory requirements by ensuring the embryology laboratory maintains compliance.
- Participate in internal and external QA programs, audits, and training.
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated people leader with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and meet the following criteria:
- You must hold a Master's qualification in Clinical Embryology, Reproductive Sciences, or equivalent.
- You must be fully trained in all aspects of embryology, including biopsy.
- You must have the ability to work effectively as a team member.
- You must have demonstrated ability and willingness to educate and develop scientists.
- You must have experience in a senior or supervisory role and the ability to resolve conflict in a positive way.
