About the role
The Pathology Supervisor leads the Pathology team in providing high quality and professional pathology services to patients and stakeholders. This position is responsible for:
• performing high quality pathology clinical tasks as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the Pathology Laboratories across our Gold Coast & Brisbane Clinics.
• building an aligned and effective team that are highly skilled and functional.
• coordinating resources to ensure the delivery of scientific outcomes and patient experience.
In addition, the Pathology Supervisor supports the Scientific Director on leadership, daily work priorities and troubleshooting within their laboratory as well as staff engagement and activities. Working with the Scientific Director this role will contribute to the achievement of the Scientific Leadership objective. The Pathology Supervisor, in collaboration with the Scientific Director, People & Culture Business Partner and Regional Manager may be required to develop the operational budget and work force plan, have input into the capital expenditure budget and work with external suppliers on relationships and key suppliers. This position may be required to work public holidays and weekends on a rostered, rotation.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated people leader with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You will also demonstrate:
- An undergraduate degree in a science related field with a postgraduate qualification (as per the RTAC CoP/NPACC requirements).
- Meet the NPACC requirements for senior supervising scientist
- Proven ability to work as a team member
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable
- Ability to prioritize workload, consistently meet deadlines and seek help from the Regional Pathology Coordinator and Scientific Director when required
- Excellent organisational, record keeping and administrative skills
- Previous experience with Quality Management (desirable)
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role (desirable)
