Where the team fits in

This role sits in the Core Property Data team in PropTrack. Data is the heart of what we do and impacts all our products and data science models - improving our data quality is key to PropTrack's long term success.

PropTrack is REA’s property data solutions business. It provides property data and technical platform solutions to customers in the financial and government sectors. The Engineering Team within Proptrack works together to deliver solutions to our internal and external customers.

This position plays a pivotal role in helping REA to become the market leader in property data and supporting REA FY25 OKR’s to become the property data authority.

What The Role Is All About

As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you will assume responsibility for overall data quality strategy and coach and mentor your team for quality outcomes. You will be responsible for working with cross-functional squads to ensure stability, availability, and reliability of data pipelines and APIs through the planning and execution of appropriate testing.

This role has a specific focus on data. You will collaborate with Lead QA to evolve our data quality framework and strategy to support our property data pipelines and support its execution within teams. You'll support the team in the following ways:

Drive team to define and implement quality strategy for new data pipelines and APIs using data platforms such as Kafka, Flink, BigQuery, dbt and Airflow/Breeze.

Monitoring of data quality and recommend improvement activities.

Identify, track, and remediate data quality issues.

Work with team to analyse and produce data coverage and quality statistics across internal and external data sets to provide a high level of awareness across multiple teams.

Champion quality software delivery from inception and design to build and deployment in collaboration with team and stakeholders.

Working with product managers to understand business priorities and communicate technical options, report on progress and come up with quality metrics.

Coaching and sharing knowledge with the squads on data quality practices and advocating for shared quality responsibility.

Supporting the tribe in training needs around onboarding new members, testing tools or practices

Contributing to the Quality Analysis community of practice for REA Group.

Liaising with Product Managers, Tech Leads and Delivery Leads to ensure quality strategy and plans meet their requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

A mix of and data test automation and contract / service / API test automation experience is a plus.

A passion for data, Expert problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated skills in data testing.

Demonstrated skills in defining and implementing data quality strategies for multiple teams.

Must be able to identify, analyse and address problems to resolve data quality issues and suggest improvements in data quality processes.

The ability to extract, transform and analyse data using a variety of tools & techniques, including SQL.

The ability to apply appropriate visualisation techniques to datasets using software like Excel and Tableau.

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical business owners.

Ability to manage the competing demands of multiple projects in a timely manner.

Exposure to dev-ops tools and techniques, particularly AWS, CloudFormation, and Docker is a plus.

Experience with data pipelines and working with streaming data frameworks, such as Kafka and Flink is a bonus.

A track record of delivering software to high quality standards, deploying and supporting the software that you deliver right through to production (past AWS or GCP experience a bonus).
