Where the team fits in

The Listings tribe in the Agency Services group build and operate the systems that support REA’s ability to interact with customers from across the REA business.

You'll join a program that serves the dual purpose of reducing REA’s risk exposure to the ageing Listings Platform and accelerating our customers’ adoption of our flagship customer-facing portal, Ignite.

What The Role Is All About

The Listings Squads are responsible for the systems that power our listing ingestion and publication - both legacy and new, the evolving Partner Platform APIs as well as playing a key role in helping to drive a path for our customers away from legacy systems like Agent Admin and Agent Desktop and into new systems like Ignite. Programming languages in use by the team are primarily a combination of Scala and Ruby. Your responsibilities will include:
- You will be responsible for working with up to 4 cross-functional squads to design, build, and maintain our products. You will also be responsible for communicating with a wide audience.- You will thrive in an Agile environment with context switching, deeply technical domains, and communicating with a wide audience.- You will be expected to improve the quality of solutions implemented using a variety of programming languages, databases, and cloud technologies. You will work closely with your team and others to create and execute testing strategies that will ensure that solutions are the best they can be.- Your communication skills, wide experience and excellent judgement supports squads of developers, data engineers, data analysts and product managers with testing best practices to shift-left quality of what the team builds and how they do it.- You are the quality champion for your team and will help by getting hands-on with planning and executing tests, influencing processes, uplifting quality practises and capability of the delivery team.- You will work with other members of the Tribe to create a quality framework that will help the tribe achieve its mission.- Monitor key quality system metrics and process indicators to ensure adherence to compliance and performance expectations.- Determine the appropriate testing techniques and tools to be used for end-to-end testing, such as automated testing or manual testing approaches.

What we’re looking for- Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills.- Demonstrated skills in defining and implementing testing strategies.- Intermediate software, technical and testing knowledge.- A mix of Web/Native/API Test automation experience.- Experience working with continuous integration practices and tools.- Ability to understand complex business rules and define test scenarios.- Performance testing experience- Able to be effective in a collaborative team environment.- Work productively in a fast paced and Agile environment.
