We act for humanity.Our Migration Support Programs aim to help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.

About the role

The Support Officer provides administrative and entry-level technical support to existing Migration programs.

Working as part of an integrated nationwide Migration team, you will collaborate across programs including Quality, and Workforce Development, to ensure our programs provide dignity and respect, are responsive to identity, culture and diversity, and are informed by the lived experience of vulnerable migrants. The role will also coordinate, supervise, train and support volunteers.

An Ochre card is a mandatory requirement for this position

What you will bring

  • Experience in working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in coordinating, managing, training and supporting volunteers.
  • Excellent general office administration and records management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding issues affecting people impacted by migration, their vulnerabilities, needs and strengths.
  • Proven ability to establish clear work boundaries
  • Proven highly developed organisational and time management skills
