An opportunity exists for a qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable Catering Department.

·         Required for shifts weekdays & weekends

·         Friendly environment

·         Supportive Hotel Services Team

The Hills Private Hospital is an 111-bed private hospital located in the Hills District of Sydney. We have 86 inpatient rehabilitation beds and 25 mental health beds.

 

As a Chef your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
  • Meal and food preparation for patients including cakes and desserts
  • Maintain food stock levels
  • Maintain regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards
  • Implement Food Safety Program
  • Liaise with management and facility staff
  • Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members to deliver exceptional service

 

 

The Hills Private Hospital has established an excellent reputation in the community for its high commitment to customer service, staff satisfaction and quality improvement.

The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking (desirable)
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Attention to detail
  • Well-developed strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
  • Available for shifts over a 7 day roster including weekend work
  • Experience in hospital or hotel food service environment preferred
  • Previous experience in a Healthcare environment would be a distinct advantage.

Successful applicants are required to provide evidence of a satisfactory Criminal History Record Check, a Working with Children Check and immunisation assessment prior to commencement.
