Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on menu planning with Chef Manager and residents.
  • Ensure menus cater to dietary needs, preferences, and cultural requirements.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including stock, wastage, and food safety.
  • Implement effective purchasing and cost control measures.
  • Deliver food services based on resident choices.
  • Maintain high standards in menu delivery and quality.
  • Coordinate nutritious, varied, and well-received meals.
  • Uphold food safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure thorough cleaning pre and post food preparation.
  • Communicate promptly with Chef Manager on kitchen operations, safety plans, and menu concerns.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous meal prep experience in a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with food moulds for Aged Care Residents (preferred).
  • Skilled in leading and training kitchen staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficient in HACCP food safety standards.
  • Understanding of Aged Care principles.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor Course
