Description
Position at GroupM
GroupM is the world's largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. Our industry is changing at a rapid pace, and we always need to be sourcing talent ahead of the curve so we have an established audience we can tap and engage. We compete for the best talents with multinational organizations, renowned listed internet firms and start-ups, so you should be inventive and creative in your approach to TA.
At GroupM, our people are our strength, which is why fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion is important to us.
3 best things about the job:
- You will be at the heart of strategically leading Talent within one of the largest media agency groups in Australia.
- Work in a fun and fast-paced industry at the heart of digital, data analytics, content, and technology where we value new ideas and thinking to bring in the next wave of best talent for our business.
- Lead as a trusted advisor with a future view of the workplace plan and be at the forefront of succession requirements in a constantly changing environment.
Reporting into the Head of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Lead is critical in providing expert strategy planning, support, and delivery to GroupM's agency portfolio and being a key member of the APAC TA Cluster. The position requires an experienced recruitment professional adept at managing stakeholders' expectations whilst rallying the team to deliver to consistent high volumes.
A little more about you:
You have a passion and flair for always seeking to connect great people with great opportunities. You are a doer and when the going gets tough, you get going. You are proactive and act fast, seeing delivery through to the end. You value building long lasting trusting relationships through consistent delivery and your consultative approach. You have ideas and you are open to sharing them to improve service delivery for everyone's benefit. Most importantly, you are a team player.
You'll have the opportunity to partner with senior leaders as a subject matter expert to drive high caliber talent advisory. You will lead and manage roles end to end, but you will also consult to your business leaders about the state of the market, what drives your candidates, where to find them, and recruit through a proactive lens with wanting to continually connect with talent in your portfolios so that you are constantly plugging talent into our agencies.
The Talent Lead has overall responsibility for attracting talent to our operating companies, and champions the employer brands of our agencies, coaches our leaders in hiring best practice, and approaches all work tasks, with honesty and passion. Building a strong and lasting partnership with our CEO's, CPO, and wider P&C team is vital to its success. Your role will also contribute to various initiatives and projects as needed across APAC, with the support of the Head of Talent Acquisition.
Similar experience from a media environment would be highly favourable. This role can either be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with an expectation of 2/3 days per week in the office.
We are only able to consider applications from candidates with full working rights in Australia (citizens, PR). At this stage unfortunately we are unable to support sponsorship.
What your role looks like at GroupM:
- Strong experience in providing insights, analytics, and reporting providing talent trends across AUNZ in partnership with our Heads of People & Culture and Head of Talent Acquisition.
- In consultation with Senior Leadership Team, create and a deliver a Talent Acquisition plan that shows in depth understanding of their needs, wants, expectations, and idiosyncrasies. Create effective and proactive solutions including creation of talent pipelines and succession planning for hard to fill roles, having a direct impact on lowering attrition and increasing retention of new hires.
- Identify, develop, and execute effective, strategic hiring plans for critical, complex roles that have enterprise-wide impact. Challenge the brief: find a passion within the agencies to move away from 'traditional' competitors as the only source of talent and provide methods of finding alternative talent.
- Research and implement new ways of working, processes, and technologies to build the talent pipeline across each agency encouraging a proactive approach to recruitment. Create end to end talent and workforce strategies for the incubation, development, and integration of new business.
- Guide leaders to take greater accountability for engaging talent, ensuring a focus on DEI within talent practices. Educating, leading, and coaching hiring leaders on how to leverage diverse talent.
- Keep abreast of market, industry, and talent trends which are relevant to recruitment and share knowledge and findings throughout the team.
- Identify and maintain competitive intelligence on key industry talent, building a talent 'database' to ensure we can quickly approach top talent ahead of our growth needs.
- Ability to work in a high volume, needs driven environment while providing support to your peers.
- Best practice, candidate centric approach applied throughout the recruitment process including but not limited to; following new hire approval process, candidate CV reviews, phone screening, initial interview, follow up interview process, facilitations of any testing required and completion of reference, competency, and background checks.
- Ensure that our recruitment CRM (Jobvite) is kept up to date with relevant top-tier talent and you are an active contributor to ensuring they are targeted with content.
- Consistently demonstrating high value of client service to ensure that the Talent team is seen as a trusted and valued partner within the organisation.
What You'll Bring:
- Extensive experience working as a senior talent consultant within an in-house talent acquisition/recruitment function ideally from a media background
- Ideally a track record of dealing with high volume of roles.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deal with ambiguity in a highly complex matrix structure.
- Highly solutions-driven, adaptable, possessing a strong growth mindset.
- Proven senior stakeholder management experience.
- Loves data, speed, and accuracy, and collaborative relationships at all times.
- Ability to drive innovative talent attraction strategies and influence hiring decisions through data.
