About Us: KU Alfred Child Care Centre has been serving the needs of Alfred Hospital employees since 2004. Our center operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, providing care for up to 60 children across nursery, toddler, and preschool rooms. Conveniently located in Alfred Lane near St Kilda Road and Commercial Road, we are just a short walk from Prahran train station and easily accessible by tram from Flinders Street Station.

Our dedicated team of 14, including educators, a service cook, and an administrator, is the heart of our service. Over half of our team members have been with us for more than 10 years, showcasing our commitment to long-term employment and employee engagement..

We have 14 members of the team at KU Alfred including educators, a service cook and administrator. Over half of the team have been with the service for more than 10 years and have been recognised for their years of service with KU. 

Children at our center enjoy regular excursions to local highlights such as Fawkner Park, Deaf Children Australia, the Coppin Centre, the local library, and the Shrine of Remembrance. We also actively participate in community events and celebrate various festivals. Our service is equipped with sustainable materials, and we strive to minimize the use of plastic.

The Role:  

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team, working 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday, with a varied roster of shifts. You will accure a monthly rostered day off.

Of course, you will need:

Australian working rights A current Working with Children Check An ACECQA recognised Diploma Current First Aid and CPR certificates along with current separate approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates Completed Child Protection Training as well as demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices  Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
