The Opportunity

The Commercial Lead role is a key client engagement role in the provision of tendering and business development requirements for CSI Mining Services.  Reporting to the GM Commercial, the role will be responsible for the leading the pre-contracts process across multiple new growth opportunities from tender receipt through to client negotiation and contract handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with senior operational leaders and GM Commercial to ensure execution and commercial strategies aligned to client drivers are incorporated into tender submissions
  • Prepare and review tender deliverables including compiling project estimates, drafting proposals, presentations, and returnable schedules based on the tender specifications and requirements
  • Prepare business development presentations and marketing material
  • Lead pricing and cost modelling for business opportunities and tenders
  • Review commercial terms within new contracts and engage legal specialists as required
  • Coordinate the tender clarification and negotiation process across technical, commercial and contractual elements
  • Develop and maintain sound and cooperative working relationships with external clients
  • Lead internal tender governance review process by providing commercial, operational and financial analysis as required to actively support management decision making

What is Required

  • Post graduate Commerce, Finance, Legal or Engineering qualification/s
  • At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role
  • Experience in the mining or resources industry in a commercial, business development or tendering role
  • Experience managing and leading pre-contract activities across technical, commercial and contractual workstreams
  • Strong communicator with the ability to challenge existing processes, drive process improvements and engage with stakeholders to implement solutions
  • Highly developed and proven analytical skills supported by strong financial modelling capabilities
