About the Role:

This unique hybrid role as Head of Marketing & Digital at Stylerunner, reporting to the General Manager, will oversee CRM, Creative, Retail, Brand Marketing, eCommerce, and Digital functions during an 12-month maternity cover contract. This role oversees a team of 8. You will own the vision and direction of the brand, leading digital transformation and driving growth across all channels – including Website, Social & Retail. Responsibilities include managing the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that elevate the brand, ensuring consistency across creative outputs like photography, videography, and graphic design, and monitoring sales performance. You will identify emerging trends, collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives, and foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

eCommerce & CRM

  • Digital Strategy Oversight: Develop and lead the overall digital strategy, driving growth across all digital channels, including eCommerce, social media, SEO, and paid media.
  • Ecommerce Leadership: Oversee the Ecommerce team to ensure performance targets are met and drive online sales to achieve financial goals.
  • Sales Performance Management: Monitor and analyze sales metrics, budget forecasts, and year-over-year comparisons, providing regular projections and actionable insights.
  • Strategic Sales Growth: Identify and execute strategic opportunities to increase traffic, conversions, and online sales across various channels.
  • Digital Marketing Budget and ROI Management: Oversee the digital marketing budget, maximizing ROI through strategic media investments and partnerships with digital marketing agencies.
  • Customer Experience Optimization: Lead initiatives to enhance the online customer journey, reduce bounce rates, and minimize cart abandonment, working with the team to drive conversion rate optimization.
  • Omnichannel Coordination: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement and optimize developments, ensuring a seamless shopping experience across all platforms.
  • CRM Strategy Oversight: Lead the CRM Manager to develop and implement CRM strategies, including content, personalization, and segmentation, to drive customer acquisition and engagement, and ensure collaboration between CRM, Marketing, and Retail teams.

Brand & Retail Marketing

  • Brand Marketing Strategy: Oversee the development and execution of a comprehensive brand marketing strategy, ensuring consistency and resonance across all channels, including Retail, Website, and Social Media.
  • Campaign and Content Management: Direct the planning and execution of key campaigns, photoshoots, events, retail marketing, and content creation, ensuring alignment with brand standards and objectives.
  • Creative Direction and Outputs: Oversee all creative direction and outputs from the creative team, including photography, videography, and graphic design, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign goals.
  • PR & Influencer Community Management: Oversee influencer and community strategy as well as all PR, seeding and gifting, ensuring key business objectives are met.
  • External Stakeholder and Partnerships Management: Build and manage relationships with external brand partners and external stakeholders/partnerships, to deliver key marketing business outcomes.
  • Internal Stakeholder and Team Management: Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and retail teams, leading the marketing team to deliver key business outcomes.
  • Brand Marketing Budget Oversight: Work closely with the Marketing Manager to oversee the Brand Marketing budget and manage spend effectively.
  • Innovation and Trend Monitoring: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain Stylerunner's competitive edge in digital and marketing innovation.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop the marketing and digital teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Senior Leadership Collaboration: Work with the senior leadership team to provide strategic insights and make key business decisions that impact the overall success of the Stylerunner business.

To be successful, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Fashion Industry Experience: Hands-on experience within a fashion apparel or footwear retailer is preferred.
  • Extensive eCommerce/Marketing Background: Over 8 years of experience in eCommerce or marketing within a retail business, with at least 1-2 years in a senior leadership or head of department role.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage diverse marketing and digital functions.
  • Comprehensive Marketing Management: Experience overseeing eCommerce, CRM, social media, PR, brand management, and creative functions like photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: In-depth knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including eCommerce, SEO, social media, and data analytics.
  • Strategic Marketing Vision: Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive brand growth and enhance customer engagement.
  • Brand Management Proficiency: Expertise in managing and enhancing brand presence across multiple channels.
  • Innovation and Trend Adaptation: Demonstrated ability to leverage emerging trends, technologies, and platforms to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Deep understanding of customer behaviour, with the ability to tailor marketing strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in AP21 and Google Analytics (or similar tools) highly regarded.
