We are seeking an inspirational educational leader to join us as the new Deputy Head of Grimwade House in early 2025. The Deputy Head will work with Grimwade staff in building a school wide-ethos and culture that values excellence and promotes close cooperation between staff, students and parents.

About Grimwade House

Melbourne Grammar’s primary school campus – Grimwade House – welcomes around 680 students from Prep to Year 6 each day. It is a joyful and happy place to work. Our wonderful young girls and boys are curious, enthusiastic, respectful and interested in learning. It is a place where students learn in an environment that is purpose-built to challenge and support them to grow, flourish and thrive.

About the Deputy Head of Grimwade House

The successful candidate will make a strong, positive, and energetic contribution to the campus across four key areas:

Leadership and strategy

As the Deputy Head of Grimwade House, you will regularly devise new programs, initiatives, and innovative ways of thinking.  You will use your expertise and strategic capacity to deliver best practice pastoral care and community service programs across the campus. You will also make a significant contribution to the shape of the revitalised campus for which we are currently in a planning phase.

Teaching and learning

A solid understanding of the Victorian curriculum and the best approaches to delivering it is essential to your success in this role. On a day-to-day basis, you will supervise all teaching staff through their Section Heads, as well as those managing our out-of-school-care and health programs.

Planning and management

Grimwade House is a busy place. Your capacity for forward thinking and organisational skills will be crucial in ensuring that each day runs smoothly and safely, maintaining a well-functioning and secure atmosphere for students and staff alike.

Respectful and productive relationships are the bedrock of our School and, with your exemplary interpersonal skills, you will proactively contribute to the ongoing development of our dynamic and inclusive culture.

VIT Registration, or the ability to gain VIT registration, is essential for this position.
