TheRoles 

We are offering three uniqueopportunities for multiple candidates within our Boarding Housecommunity and seeking flexible and caring candidates to contributein a unique way to this community.

Working under the direction of the Head of Boarding, you will be akey contributor in ensuring the safe welfare, pastoral care andacademic progress of all Boarders in the Morcom Boarding House. Youwill be responsible for the preservation of routine within afacility that houses approx. 45 secondary male and female students(aged 14-18 years) at our Caulfield Campus.

To be successful you will developknowledge of each individual and family/education circumstancewithin the House and monitor, plan and action steps to maintain thephysical and emotional wellbeing of boarding students and staff.You will model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values andbehaviours.

Boarding House Coordinator(Boys), Full Time (New role):

This is a fixed-term full-timeposition, commencing on reduced hours in Term 4 for a completehandover for 2025. The full-time role will commence in mid January2025. The role is up to 37.5 hours of work over 40 weeks a year (interm time), sleepovers (up to 2) are included each week.Responsibilities include administration of supervision rosters,personnel management, providing guidance and security to otherboarding house supervisors, rostering of student routines, andensuring the welfare and happiness of students and peers within theboarding community.

Boarding House Supervisor(Boys & Girls) - Casual:

The role provides up to 10 hours perweek, with 1 or 2 sleepovers. Duties involve working with the Headof Boarding to ensure the welfare and happiness of students withinthe boarding community, after-hours supervision, ensuring boardersafety, and monitoring student attendance and conduct duringmealtimes, meetings, and specifiedevents.

Boarding House Supervisor(Boys & Girls) – Residential,Part-time:

This is a fixed-term part-timeopportunity, commencing in Term 4 2024 or Term 1 2025. There are upto 20+ hours per week plus 2 sleepovers (10pm – 8.30am) over39 weeks (term time) for potential candidates. Responsibilities aresimilar to the casual boarding house supervisor, including workingwith Boarding leadership, after-hours supervision, ensuring boardersafety, and monitoring student attendance andconduct.

Skills andExperience 

Experience working with teenagers Ability to quickly build rapport with others (boarders, parents and staff) A strong work ethic to commit to a range of shifts across 7 days per week during school term time Experience in social work/pastoral care role/residential environment (desired, but not essential) Post-Secondary Education Qualification (desired) Ability to ensure rules and procedures are consistently maintained. Level 2 First Aid Certification, Anaphylaxis Certification, and CPR Current Employment Working with Children Check or VIT Registration
