Since its establishment in 1881, Caulfield Grammar has been a Boarding School, currently accommodating around 90 boarders from various regions across Australia and beyond.
The Roles
We are excited to present three distinct opportunities for multiple candidates within our Boarding House community. We seek adaptable and compassionate individuals who can make a meaningful contribution to this unique environment.
Under the guidance of the Head of Boarding, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, welfare, and academic success of all boarders in the Morcom Boarding House. You will help maintain a structured environment for approximately 45 secondary students (ages 14-18) at our Caulfield Campus.
To excel in this role, you will cultivate an understanding of each individual and their family or educational background, while monitoring, planning, and implementing strategies to support the physical and emotional wellbeing of both boarding students and staff. You will embody and exemplify the values and behaviors of Caulfield Grammar School.
Boarding House Coordinator (Boys), Full Time:
This is a full-time, fixed-term position. Responsibilities include managing supervision schedules, overseeing personnel, providing guidance and support to fellow boarding house supervisors, coordinating student routines, and ensuring the overall welfare and happiness of students and colleagues within the boarding community.
Boarding House Supervisor (Boys & Girls) - Casual:
This role offers up to 10 hours per week, including 1 or 2 overnight shifts. Duties involve collaborating with the Head of Boarding to ensure the wellbeing and happiness of students in the boarding community, providing after-hours supervision, ensuring student safety, and monitoring attendance and behavior during meals, meetings, and designated events.
Boarding House Supervisor (Boys & Girls) – Residential, Part-time:
This is a part-time, fixed-term opportunity, offering up to 20+ hours per week, along with 2 overnight shifts (10pm – 8:30am) across 39 weeks. Responsibilities are similar to those of the casual boarding house supervisor, including collaboration with boarding leadership, after-hours supervision, ensuring student safety, and monitoring attendance and conduct.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working with adolescents
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with students, parents, and staff
- Strong work ethic and commitment to various shifts throughout the week during school terms
- Experience in social work, pastoral care, or residential settings (preferred but not essential)
- Post-secondary education qualification (preferred)
- Ability to consistently uphold rules and procedures
- Level 2 First Aid Certification, Anaphylaxis Certification, and CPR
- Current Employment Working with Children Check or VIT Registration
