The purpose of the Land Acquisition Specialist is to provide subject matter advice and expertise in relation to land and acquisition. This includes acquisition and negotiation strategies for the delivery, operation, maintenance and decommissioning of Powerlink’s infrastructure and assets.  

 

Here's how:

 

⦁    Ensure Powerlink operates in accordance with legislation and industry standards relating to land and acquisition matters. 
⦁    Provide support to the property team, including input on statutory acquisitions, negotiations, compensation and access matters.
⦁    Co-ordinate external specialist consultancy advice for projects such as valuation advice, including management of consultant and contactors to ensure performance. 
⦁    Lead the delivery of advice, analysis and reviews on complex land matters, developing evidence-based options to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
⦁    Negotiate access licenses, options, leases, easements and acquisition of land parcels to facilitate transmission line infrastructure, and other associated grid connection infrastructure.
⦁    Maintain strong relationships with external agencies including State and Local Authorities and industry entities

Your expertise

 

⦁    Degree level qualification in Valuation, Property or relevant field.
⦁    Proven experience working in a similar or related role.
⦁    Advanced and developed knowledge and experience in land matters, compensation principles, negotiation frameworks, and acquisition.
⦁    Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation requirements in particular the various Land Acts.
⦁    Strong stakeholder engagement communication and interpersonal skills.
⦁    Demonstrated experience and understanding of the scoping and maturing early stages of infrastructure development projects.

 

We’d also love you to have:

 

⦁    Certified/registered practicing planner or similar professional would be desired.
⦁    Significant experience in property, property management, or a related discipline related to the energy sector would be an advantage.
