We are currently recruiting a Vegetation Technical Officer to join our team in Goulburn or surrounding depots.
This role reports to the Senior Program Supervisor Vegetation and plays a critical role in supporting the execution and management of vegetation-related activities across Essential Energy's network.The Vegetation Technical Officer provides technical and operational support to internal teams and external stakeholders, coordinates network access requests, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
This role is key to facilitating efficient delivery of vegetation programs and managing complex customer and stakeholder interactions.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and prepare Network Access Requests and schedule network outagesProvide advice on network design inquiries including upgrades and SAPS installationsPrepare and execute Notice of Entry procedures and liaise with relevant authoritiesEngage with plantation owners and stakeholders to ensure safe access and planningSupport third-party requests including rail applications and NPWS engagementsAssist in resolving escalated customer complaints and complex issuesConduct audits of vegetation inspections and treatments to ensure complianceCoordinate site activities during planned/unplanned eventsPromote diversity, equity, and inclusion in alignment with Essential Energy's Code of ConductAbout YouAs a Vegetation Technical Officer, you will bring strong arboricultural and network knowledge, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You will be confident working independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.Required Qualifications/SkillsMandatory:Certificate IV in Business or equivalent experienceCertificate III in ArboricultureDriver's LicenceGeneral Construction Induction Training (White Card)Maintenance of all required licences and authorisationsExperience:Utility vegetation management and arboriculture practicesUnderstanding of electricity distribution networks and standardsExperience with ICT systems and mobile devicesDelivery of planned maintenance programs with contractors and internal teamsCustomer and stakeholder engagementSafety leadership and complianceSkills:Contractor and stakeholder managementInfluencing, negotiation, and conflict resolutionStrong organisational and prioritisation skillsEffective written and verbal communicationWhy Essential EnergyWe offer competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience and 16.5% superannuation.Essential Energy provides employees with a broad range of benefits through our corporate partnerships with organisations such as Qantas, Optus, nib and Mildura Health Fund.
