**Purpose**

The primary purpose of the Production Team Manager is to manage operators on the production floor whilst also working hands-on in their assigned line/area to achieve production plan targets.

The Production Team Manager must provide leadership in relation to the planning, output and quality of their assigned area or line. They must ensure all checks are carried out throughout the production process. They will be a role model of behaviour and play a crucial role in up-skilling production operators and chocolatiers.

Production Team Managers will report into the Shift Managers. This is a new role in the Koko Black production team to support our ongoing growth and we are seeking people across all shifts. Our production shifts run as follows:

- Day shift: 7am - 3.06pm
- Afternoon shift: 3pm - 11.06pm
- Night shift: 11pm - 7.06am

**Key Responsibilities**

**Safety**
- Ensure that chocolatiers and production operators follow correct manual handling processes whilst performing tasks and cleaning or operating machines.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and organised work environment by educating and directing the team on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Encourage staff to take responsibility of safety at all the times.

**Quality**
- Ensure that allergens policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed.
- Ensure all product is made in accordance with the recipe card or packaging specification
- Ensure all the quality checks being done on time (e.g. metal check, food quality check, best before check, pack seal check, carton tape check, glue check).
- Supporting QA team embedding food safety culture
- Adhere to HACCP standards

**People and Organisation**
- Create healthy and motivated work environment within the team.
- Role model adhering to standards and policies by being compliant at all times
- Reporting to Shift Manager about day-to-day production activities.
- Communicate training needs to shift manager.

**Performance Management and Leadership**
- Support and motivate teams in achieving daily targets and goals.
- Monitor individual performances, providing ongoing feedback and support and addressing non-compliance
- Resolve any issues and conflict within the team

**Run assigned line/area**
- Each shift, complete a safety and quality inspection of your machine centre/line prior to commencing any further duties.
- Each shift, ensure preparation of the line/area you are leading is completed as per the specifications for that line, this may include staging, machinery set-up, inventory checks
- Ensure there is a clear plan of the work to be completed for the day, and that your team and other relevant teams are aware of and aligned with the plan
- Facilitate the team meeting the output requirements
- Complete relevant quality checks for any products being produced on your line/area as required

**Continuous Improvement**
- Work with Shift Managers, the Operations Manager, Maintenance Leader, QA and wider team to continually improve processes
- Provide feedback on ways to increase efficiency, improve quality or reduce risk in your area
- Take steps to reduce waste and suggest process improvements
